"I was in so much pain all over my body and even spent several weeks in a pain clinic. However, no doctor could help me. I traveled all over Germany looking for good doctors. This practice was finally able to help me, and I'm feeling well again now. They diagnosed that all my symptoms stemmed from a bad bite and that I suffer from temporomandibular joint dysfunction (TMD)."

Frequently Asked Questions

What makes KFO360° different from regular orthodontics?

With our holistic and function-oriented approach, we view the teeth, jaw joints, airway, musculature, and body posture as an interconnected system. This allows us not only to improve tooth alignment but also to optimize the function of the entire masticatory system in a lasting and sustainable way.
Our practice in Wolfratshausen is among the few in Germany that fully integrate the 3-dimensional movements of the jaw joints into digital treatment planning.
Dr. and Prof. Jilek, together with Dr. Welker, developed the KFO360° concept — a holistic, jaw-joint–oriented, and fully digital treatment system.
Whether for children, adolescents, or adults:
Our individualized therapies ensure that the teeth and jaws are aligned not only aesthetically, but also functionally in the best possible way.
With our scientifically grounded, state-of-the-art, and highly personalized approach, we offer orthodontics at the highest level — for:
a healthy, radiant smile
long-term stability
improved overall well-being and body balance
Dr. Theresa Jilek continues to contribute to scientific research and publications alongside her clinical work, further underscoring the high professional quality and innovative strength of our concept.

How long does treatment typically take?

How long does orthodontic treatment take?
The duration of orthodontic treatment depends on your individual case:
Minor corrections may require only a few months.
More complex treatments typically take 1 to 2 years.
Severe or challenging cases may take 2 to 3 years.
With your active cooperation — such as wearing appliances as instructed and maintaining good oral hygiene — we can achieve the shortest and most efficient treatment time possible.

Is KFO360° suitable for children?

Yes, absolutely.
The KFO360° concept is not only designed for adults — it is particularly well suited for children. In children, the jaws, airway, musculature, and body posture are still developing, and this is exactly where KFO360° can provide early and gentle support.
With our holistic approach, we do not focus solely on tooth position but also consider:
breathing (nasal vs. mouth breathing)
tongue posture
swallowing pattern
jaw growth
oral and facial musculature
body posture
the function of the jaw joints
This allows us to detect developmental issues early and guide growth in the right direction before more significant problems arise.
This is especially advantageous for children, because:
narrow jaws can be expanded in time
nasal breathing can be promoted
speech and swallowing functions can be improved
more complex treatments later in life can often be avoided
the face can grow harmoniously — both aesthetically and functionally
KFO360° makes optimal use of a child’s natural growth potential — supporting healthy jaws, stable tooth positions, and overall balanced development.

Does insurance cover KFO360° treatment?

Statutory Health Insurance (GKV)
covers treatment costs only for certain levels of severity (KIG 3–5)
the extended digital diagnostics and functional analyses used in KFO360° are not part of the reimbursable services
Private Health Insurance (PKV)
reimbursement varies depending on the specific insurance plan
high-quality diagnostic procedures may be partially covered, depending on the contract and medical justification
Before starting treatment, we provide a transparent cost estimate and assist you in submitting any required documentation to your insurance provider.

What if I've had orthodontic treatment before?

Even if you have completed orthodontic treatment in the past, the KFO360° concept may still be highly beneficial for you. Many patients come to us although they previously wore braces — often because:
their teeth have shifted again
they experience symptoms such as grinding or clenching, headaches, neck tension, or noises in the jaw joints
their previous treatment addressed only tooth alignment, but not the underlying functional aspects
their bite does not fit harmoniously with the jaw joints
the long-term stability of the previous treatment result was insufficient
With our holistic and function-oriented approach, we not only look at the teeth but also at the jaw joints, airway, musculature, tongue position, and body posture. This allows us to identify functional causes, treat existing complaints, and create a bite that is both aesthetically pleasing and functionally stable.
A previous orthodontic treatment is therefore not a limitation — in many cases, it helps us understand your situation even better and plan a more individualized, long-lasting solution.
If you wish, we can evaluate your current situation during a personal consultation and determine how the KFO360° concept can best support you.
