Seven Easy Steps

Your Journey with Removable Braces

Step 1

Initial Consultation

We listen to your needs and examine your entire masticatory system using our holistic KFO360 concept.

Step 2

Initial Records

In a child-friendly atmosphere, we playfully take impressions of the teeth, X-rays, and photos, which we then evaluate from our holistic perspective. For us, achieving balance in the entire masticatory system is just as important as straight teeth.

Step 3

Consultation

We take plenty of time to clearly and understandably explain our holistic treatment concept. We also present suitable treatment alternatives and place great importance on ensuring that you understand the reasons behind our approach and the benefits of the therapy. This way, you can make every decision with confidence and fully stand behind your treatment.

Step 4

Brace Fitting

Once it’s ready, we make sure it fits comfortably and show you how to use it properly.

Step 5

Routine Wear

You’ll wear the brace as recommended—often 14 to 16 hours per day, or only at night.

Step 6

Check-ins & Adjustments

We’ll regularly check your progress and make any needed adjustments.

Step 7

Retention or Transition

After achieving your goals, we guide you to celebrate, transition, or take a short break for optimal, lasting results.

Frequently Asked Questions

How many hours a day should I wear removable braces?

The required wearing time depends on your individual treatment plan. In most cases, however, the aligners should be worn 14 to 16 hours a day to achieve the best results. Once we’ve reached significant progress, they are often only needed at night to stabilize your smile.

Can I eat while wearing removable braces?

No, it's best to take them out while eating or drinking anything other than water. This helps prevent damage and keeps the braces clean.

Are removable braces comfortable?

Most patients find them more comfortable than fixed braces. Some mild pressure is normal at first, but it usually fades as your teeth adjust.

How do I clean my removable braces?

Rinse your appliance with water before each use and clean it daily with toothpaste and a medium- to hard-bristled toothbrush. If you notice buildup that can’t be removed with brushing alone, we recommend a deep cleaning – either with special cleaning tablets or citric acid powder. Simply dissolve the powder in hot water and soak the appliance for 15–30 minutes. Important: Always rinse thoroughly with water before putting it back in to ensure no cleaning residues remain.

What happens if I forget to wear them?

Skipping time can delay progress. If you forget occasionally, just wear them as much as possible the following days—but let your orthodontist know if it happens often.
