OrthoCare: Kosten, Abdeckung und Finanzierungsoptionen

All you need to know about costs, insurance coverage, and financing — explained clearly.

Book Your Appointment

Most private health insurance providers and supplemental dental plans cover a significant portion — or sometimes all — of orthodontic treatment costs, depending on your plan and provider. This applies regardless of age, making it a good option for adults as well.

Private Insurance – Good to Know

If you receive government aid (Beihilfe), orthodontic treatments for children are usually covered. For adults, only in special cases and in cases in combination with surgery

Public Insurance (Statutory Health Insurance)

Public (statutory) insurance only covers orthodontic treatment if your child’s misalignment meets specific severity criteria defined by the KIG scale (3–5).

KIG Scale Classification

  • KIG 1–2: No coverage

  • KIG 3–5: Basic treatment covered by public insurance

Public Insurance - Note

Coverage applies only to children and adolescents under 18 and follows the principle of “adequate, appropriate, and cost-effective” care.
Aesthetic or comfort-oriented treatments can be added privately (self-pay).

Adults (Over 18 Years)
