Fixed braces (multi-bracket appliance) are the gold standard in orthodontics — trusted for generations. Whether you choose metal or ceramic brackets, they gently move teeth into place with precision. Ideal for teens, adults, and anyone with more complex alignment needs.
Fixed braces use brackets bonded to your teeth, connected by wires that apply gentle pressure over time. You can’t remove them, which makes them a consistent and reliable treatment option.

Do fixed braces hurt?
You might fell slight to moderate pressure when they’re first applied or adjusted, but it usually fades in a few days as your mouth gets used to them. However, if you experience severe pain, this is not normal. Please contact us promptly this fall so we can provide you with relief as quickly as possible.
Can I still eat my favorite foods?
Some foods—like very sticky, hard, or chewy ones—should be avoided. Hard objects can cause brackets to loosen more easily. Sticky foods significantly increase the risk of decalcification stains around the teeth. Food tends to stick to the outside of the brackets, making it difficult to remove even when brushing.
Will they affect how I speak?
Typically, there are no changes in pronunciation. However, this is often the case with internal braces (so-called lingual braces) at the beginning. However, within the first few weeks, you usually get used to the internal braces, including your tongue, and your pronunciation improves and returns to normal after a certain amount of time.
How long will I need to wear them?
It depends on your treatment plan, but most people wear fixed braces for 1 to 3 years. We’ll give you a clear timeline during your consultation.
